| SKYLON TOWER As we approach the awseome SKYLON TOWER the first thing we see, is the bright yellow exterior elevators, better known as the "yellow bugs". This tower has been a main attraction of Niagara Falls since 1964.These bugS will buzz you to the top dome in no time at all, it's a thrill just getting up there, not to mention the panoramic, breathtaking view. In the video clip I mentioned we were 625ft. high, so let me clarify that. The tower is 520ft. high, but we were actually 775ft. above the river and the MAID OF THE MIST BOATS....either way it's a long way down if you wanted to parachute or "base jump" Since the Skylon has been here there have been about eight daredevils to succeed in doing exactly that....you can't go there anymore, so don't even think about it ....notice the heavy duty wire caging in the video? We get off the elevator at the highest of three levels into the indoor observation deck and go through a door to the outside deck. We came up elevator #2 which you have to take if you are not dining,it basically faces the city, but as you can see we still get a beautiful view of the American Falls. The other two elevators face the Horseshoe Falls, which we,ll take on the way down. There's really not much more I have to say just look around and the video speaks for itself. It was very windy that day, and I had trouble holding the camera still as I leaned up against the protective fencing, and put both arms through to hold the camera...that was scary...I was on like a 45 degree angle, totally trustin' the technology! "did I tell you I don't like heights" Just one level below the observation deck is the Summit Suite, which is a buffet dining area. I know there used to be entertainment there too, because it was me.... Yeah, I've played there many times as a guitar/vocal single, a piano/guitar duo, a trio with drums, and with the six piece "BEAU HANNON BAND" sORRY, I got carried away there a bit, but man those were the days, and I'll soon be doin' it again. Anyways, below that level there's the ROTATING DINING ROOM. The whole dining room rotates around,as you dine. It completes one rotation an hour, real slow, so don't worry your not going to spill your soup! and you won't get "ooozy" either. The dining is "FINE" Need I say more? You'll just have to go there. There you go! P.S. The view in all directions of NIAGARA FALLS CANADA, AND NIAGARA FALLS NEW YORK, is amazing from the observation deck or the dining rooms, and speaking of dining rooms and fine dining....did you see the billboard ad with Wolfgang Puck? That's a whole other story, and that's one of the perks of creating content for "NIAGARA FALLS VLOGGER .com" going out on the video shoots, and we're looking forward to that one. WOLFGANG PUCK "chef to the stars" but you don't have to be a star to come to Niagara Falls and go to his cafe, just around the corner. If you can't make it ,let us take you there ,hopefully in the near future. |
